Looking back at 2007, it was a year for us to note
several milestones. We celebrated thirty years together as it was on
December 30, 1977 that we eloped to St. Andrews and were married in
the courthouse. Please note that Gail wants everyone to know that
she was a child bride! It was that same year that we bought our
first home near St. Stephen on the banks of the St. Croix River. Ten
years later in the summer of 1987 we opened our shop, gardens and
studio at this beautiful site.
We moved our shop to Water St. in St. Andrews ten years ago in
November, 1997 and the following year bought the Old Registry where
we presently live and work. The celebrations continue with our tenth
anniversary at 45 King St. this summer.
We marked our twentieth year in “retail tourism” last year with the
introduction of the Hairy Woodpecker
and the American Robin to
Steven’s The Birds Of Crocker Hill
print series.
We continue to work on the restoration of our heritage building.
In October, approximately one third of our brick building was
repointed. An estimated two week job turned into five weeks of much
dust and noise but what a change. The all brick windowless back wall
is so beautiful.
Nellie Rose still enjoys her job as top dog at the shop and hopes to
make many new friends in 2008.
